For over 200 years, the historic French Market has been an enduring symbol of pride and progress for the people of New Orleans. Today, America’s oldest public market has assumed a leading role in the local economy as well, providing consistently increasing revenues for city government while putting millions of dollars back into the local economy. The Market has existed on the same site since 1791. Everyone in the city went to “faire du marché ” (to make market), which is transcended into modern dialogue of locals “making groceries”. The French Market is simply a special place in the hearts of the people of New Orleans.
In October 2005, just two months after Hurricane Katrine devastated the city of New Orleans, Allen Hayden began selling body oils & incense. The French Market, located in the French Quarter was ideal for starting a new business - thus Hayden & Hayden was created. Through out the years Marilyn Hayden (Allen’s wife) and Allyn Hayden-Gonzalez (Allen’s daughter) have assisted Hayden & Hayden. Their experience and knowledge of perfume oils continued to grow, and started attracting the attention of connoisseurs everywhere.
Marilyn and Allyn started creating items and party favors for close friends &/or as gifts for existing Hayden & Hayden customers. By the Fall of 2015 the mother and daughter duo decided to cater to events and clients who wanted to give their guest an experience like no other.
